why pioneering?

Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.                                                                                                                                       Titus 2:3-5 (NIV)

I believe that Jesus Christ died on a cross to save me from the punishment of sin.  I believe that He is the only way to heaven and that I must call on Him to be saved.  

I also believe that my heavenly Father has a "plan" (if it can be called that) for me.  I'm called to be a wife and mother.  His Word has all the instructions and encouragement I could ever need to fulfill this post.  It's beautiful.

I have a wonderful mom who taught me many wonderful things.  She taught me how to do laundry, how to clean and, above all, she taught me modesty.  But there are so many things that she didn't teach me because she had never learned them herself.  Sometimes I look at my mom & sister and marvel at how different my life seems from theirs.  And I'm not saying this in a mean or even a boastful way.  I'm just praising my Father that He's given me "older women", many resources and the wisdom to become the help meet that He's created me to be.

Here are a few things that I do that no one else in my family has ever done (and things I never thought I would do!)...

• breastfeeding both of my babies for at least a year
• researching herbs/natural remedies
• natural family planning
• staying home with my children instead of working
• homeschooling my children

But what a blessing it is to follow women who have gone before me and know that I can be an encouragement to women who will come after me.  I understand that everyone has different situations but I know we can all be the wife and mother that He instructs us to be.

My purpose in this blog is to share with you all the resources I find, all the ideas I have, all of the wisdom I've been given.  I want to encourage other moms and wives.  I want everyone to be excited about being a wife, mother, stay at home mom, working mom, etc.  Likewise I would love for you, dear reader, to share with me.
