" People are getting fit for truth like they're buying a new tailored suit "
Does it fit across the shoulders, will it fade when it gets older
We throw ideas that aren't in style in the Salvation Army pile
And search for something more to meet our needs
Does it fit across the shoulders, will it fade when it gets older
We throw ideas that aren't in style in the Salvation Army pile
And search for something more to meet our needs
-from Sara Groves song 'The Word' on her album Conversations
I believe that God's Word is the absolute truth so I know who I am by reading the scriptures.
I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.
Psalm 51:5
AND
The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure.
Jeremiah 17:9
I am a desperately wicked sinner who is saved by God's grace. I praise the Lord that when we put our trust in Him and follow the Truth that He gives us we are no longer a slave to our sinful natures!!
I am a woman, a wife and a mother. God's Word clearly shows me how I am to fulfill those roles. In fact He gives instructions to wives, husbands and children.
Wives, submit to your husbands as to the LORD. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body of which he is the Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.
Ephesians 5:22-24
(continue reading for His instructions to husbands and children)
I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God.
I Timothy 2:9-10
Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.
Titus 2:3-5
That's all I need to know. There is nothing in me that is good or pleasing. God teaches me how to speak and how to live my life in a way that pleases and glorifies Him. That's the Truth.

Thanks for the reminders, Heather :-)
(*And* I've been working on a (digital) version of the home notebook--it's helping me a LOT!)
I'm so glad it's helping you! I love being organized but it's so hard when you have kids to keep up with. By the way, it was thyme that you used right?
yep, i made a tea from dried thyme leaves and kept it in a mason jar in the fridge. would dip a cotton ball in, swab munchkin's bottom with it, air dry and put a diaper back on. no screaming, and the rash cleared up after a few days :-)
